The Captial

The Hunger Games is a novel written by Suzanne Collins. This book is based upon the life of Katniss Everdeen, who is struggling in a world where the capital holds authority over the rest of its nation. This country is called Panem where the countries of North America once were. The actual Hunger Games is a yearly event where one girl and one boy aged 12 to 18 from each of the twelve districts are forced to compete in a battle against every other contestant. Including the one from their own district which means only one person out of 12 boys and 12 girls comes out of the arena alive.  The rebellion is the reason why the Hunger Games was invented in the first place. Ancestors of all the 13 districts rebelled against the capital decades ago. In order for the government to take back their power and own complete control over Panem they bombed district 13 to the ground and invented The Hunger Games as a way to show all the districts that they have complete control over them and they can take away their children and kill them.
